I would say go for the Pod, I know it is expensive, but the extra cash is worth it.
V amps are awesome for the money, but if you can afford it, I would suggest going for the Line 6 option...not only does it sound better, but it is also made of metal, not plastic, so u can beat it up a lot more.

The v-amp sounds just fine to me.

There's quite a big price difference, if you have the money to blow I'd go with the podxt. But if you're on a budget, the v-amp is definitely also a good buy for the price.

Oh for sure, I have absolutely nothing against Behringer or Vamps, I think they are amazing units at incredible prices...but for desktop modellers, you just cant beat a Pod.

Agreed. I just wanted to counter CW14's claim that the V-amps are, as he says it, "&^*#".

I've got both, and I love them both. The XT is a bit more versatile, and in some aspects more realistic, but the v2 still has a few models that can't be found on the XT. Especially the Soldano X88R preamp, and the modded JCM800 models. The XT has more and better effects, except the auto swell. The v2 seems to work better with real amps for playing live than the XT, but the XT is still great for that as well. If I could only have one, I would choose the XT, but it's great having both :D .
