Anyone remember Kahler?

Hey everyone-

Way back in '85 I was playing guitar and had two Jacksons and a Hamer all with Kahler tremolo systems on them. I have just recently got back into guitar and bought myself an Ibanez 7 string with a standard bridge.

Now I see that the Floyd Rose is the standard. Just wondering if any of you remember or have heard of the Kahler system and what happened to them. In my opinion, I liked the Kahler way better than the Floyd rose systems that I have seen. I have heard a lot of set up nightmares and the guitar is always going out of tune. Plus you have to cut out that huge hole for the installation, compared to the small cavity required by the Kahler.

Just curious!!

Kahler vibratos have been in and out of production a few times since then.


Currently, they're back up again, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Do you have info on who is selling the new ones? That is great news!! Wonder if they have something for a 7-string.....

Seems like they are progressing on the business front...nice website layout since I last visited.

way better than floyd roses(floyd is digging a grave by pushing that crap speed loader).


Also,after browsing the forums,it looks like they do not have and will not make a 7 string tremolo(because the market isn't big enough or something).
