hey everyone... i just got my first guitar as a pleasent suprise. i've never really been involved with guitars before, but always wanted to learn. i'm about to start lessons, but i was wondering if there is any advice i could get. every little bit would help for a first timer. thanks

No matter how frustrating it seems, never give up the guitar. Ultimately, persistence will reward you.

Welcome!!

My suggestion for beginners is to buy a tuning mechanism of some type; wheather its a tuning fork or electronic tuning device. Learn how to use it and PLAY in tune. This makes what comes later much easier and understandable. Rock on !!

with lessons, you have to learn at least one thing every lesson...
If not, move on to another instructor......
There will be a big learning curve and, you will hit ruts.....
but, remeber.......have fun fun fun....
