I used a Podpro (via the S/P DIF out) however you can get equally nice quality out of a podv2 and for 100 bucks (or there about) of eBay, well you cant really go wrong. Just plug the outs into a line level audio input on your sound card and you will be set.

The S/P DIF out (on the podpro) is nice as you don't have to worry about another round of digital to analogue conversion out of the pod and a subsequent round back to digital which will be at the mercy of the converters on your sound card. However, that said, don't let it worry you too much as we really are getting into cork sniffing land here !!

Another nice thing is that the pod has a headphones out which means you can plug in some headphones and blow your nuts off at 3 am and no one will give a **** !!

Check out the Soldano X88 emulation (5B). It rocks really hard !!! 7B is nice (and a lot mellower) as well.

Im like a kid at Christmas as I have a PodXT arriving tomorrow and I cant wait to see what it can do !!

At the grand price of 100 bucks I really don't know why anyone who plays the guitar is with out one. I still think the my Pod is probably the single best thing I have !!

Sure it is cool (and expensive) to play with different mics and pres and compressors and room shapes and mic response patterns and mic placement and all...... however it is just so much quicker to flick on the bean and start playing !
