You can't do either with a regular membership. You need the High bandwidth membership. This will cost you 5 bucks a month and can be had by clicking "account" in the red bar and following the instructions.
This also entitles you to a bunch of other things like unlimited access to instructors lessons / jams, videos etc / additional PMing stuff and the ability to upload attachments.
