Hey all,
I was wondering what are the 3 complete songs you first learn to play?
I started playing guitar 2 months ago, and I am trying to find easy songs to play.
Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to

Just play what you like, since playing easy songs won't help you get better. But in terms of easiness I would say anything by green day, blink 182, etc...

I actually started with hotel california. it was very difficult at first to finger pick or alternate pick. but you can learn anything. don't try to learn an easy song cause it's easy. play what you like

It was a loooong time before I actually learned a song start to finish. I'd usually just cherry pick the most notable parts from songs and learn those. IIRC, I started with the opening riff to "Smoke on the Water", the opening riff for "Come as You Are", and the title music for "Super Mario Bros.".
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

I just started taking lessons in mid January. In my instruction book (Mel Bay) I had to learn the very basics or as my instructor put it - the meat and potatoes of it!

Amazing Grace :(
When the saints go marching in
Twinkle, twinkle :(

among others.

These guys are giving great advice, learn what you like!

I'm almost done learning Everlong by the Foo Fighters now. I'm definitely a fan of the Foo's!

That is one of the best "air drumming while driving too fast" songs of all time.

Though, I'm pretty sure it's played in dropped-D.

Ahh.

That would explain why I still play it from time to time (my old band used to cover it fairly often).

I have some very good memories of rickity stages SWAYING rather violently as we played that song.

Waaaay to much fun.
