Do effect pedals work buy connecting directly into the usual input socket ie guitar>pedal>input of amp? I know this may be obvious to you all, but I don't want to waste cash if the amp don't do the job!!!
How do i connect effects pedals to my amp
Don't laugh, I'm a guitar newbie. I play a Fender Strat into a Marshall MG15DFX 15 watt. I want to buy (or build )effects pedals. I've been told that to connect pedals I need an additional input jack socket for this purpose, which my amp doesn't have.

yep that'll do it !!
Plug the guitar into the input of the pedal and the output of the pedal into the input of the amp.
Sorted !

Many thanks for that!
I've found a cracking site covering projects on effects pedals, so I'm going to have a bash at making one!
