This is the closest place I could find to post this.

Does anyone know a good program (preferably free/shareware) that allows you to basically just plug in notes and have the program play back to you what you wrote? It could be cheesy-MIDI based, that is fine.

I recall using something like Windows Music Maker (I forget the exact name) that came with Windows 3.1, and it worked fine. Or more recently I DLed MIDIMaestro (shareware), it was... *ok*... but it works on a 15 day trial. Also, it was (I think) in piano-staff format - so I was basically just holding my guitar, and counting frets and matching it up with the appropriate piano note. Not very efficient.

So... it would be sweet if there was a program set up for guitar - so you could actually write the song in TAB format, and set each string to your own tuning. Anything exist like this?
