I've been reading pieces of these forums for some time now. I dont see a point in critisizing music. Everyone digs different sounds. Who cares what music is "good" and which is "****" as i've seen it stated. This being said; I was wondering: what ever happened to blues guitar players? I've been playing guitar ( mostly blues ) for four years now while taking lessons for the first three. I'm 20 and I havent seen ,heard or talked to a single other person out there who digs the blues is there anybody out there who still plays this awsome form of music?
ps: im well aware of the unconventional theory behind the style so no angry retorts please.
Peace.

Actually there are still quite a lot of people involved in blues. Don't ask me to state names though, but blues has been a big influence on a lot of musicians. Myself included. As far as the debates on music goes. Nothing's wrong with a good ol' fashion debate. Nice to have an opportunity to voice yourself when someone's listening. And with a message forum you avoid those annoying people that talk louder so you can't be heard.

Both of whom have AWESOME blues lessons to look at! Seriously, go check out Doug's BB King inspired licks and tell me those aren't worth learning!

Well thank you for that vote of confidence.

I have also noted that, as a registered user, you have never even seen my lessons in there entirety.

What I can say is that I have spent a lot of time and money documenting the skills I have learnt over the last 20+years of guitar playing and putting then down as lessons. The 16000 hits I have had in the last 6 months and the dozens of appreciative emails attest to at least a degree of success.

As for Doug's lessons, they are also just very good. His playing is great, the videos are clear and concise and his phrasing is immaculate. Great teaching tools.

So, thank you for your comments and the free advertising but, in the future, please keep them to your self. You may also want to familiarize you self with the GT posting rules as technically you could be viewed as:
1) flaming me and Doug and
2) causing trouble.
Both or which are no no and place me in a position where I am wondering if I should just delete your post / hit you with a 30 day ban.

Next time I will not be so lenient and if I want you opinion I will ask for it.

I back up a singer/songwriter/guitarplayer on string bass. We play only blues, both old school and contemporary originals. If we didn't have other gigs I think we could play somewhere almos every night of the week. The Blues is alive and well here in the American southwest. A lot of bands mix in Ranchero tex-mex or country/rock but it's still the BLUES.
Peace my brothers!!
