It's not that I hate Rush, it's just that I haven't bought any of their disks, and if one of their songs comes on the radio, I usually endure it, instead of changing the station. Helium-breath vocals and pretentious lyrics don't appeal to me.

I guess so.
I was born & raised in Kingston, Ontario. To me, The Tragically Hip is just another Kingston band.

Geddy Lee is what it would sound like if squirrels could sing.

I hear you.
We have a phony MTV station in Canada called Much Music, and they'll play the worst s*** just because it's Canadian. I do like the hip though...

Me too.
It's just that they have the same 'Kingston sound' as any of the bands to come out of that town in the last 35 years. Muscular rock, minimal effects, intelligent lyrics, slight twist to the rhythm - when they're 'on', they exemplify the best of an identifiable Kingston sound. But since that's what I grew up with, I tend not to think that it's anything special.

I like them cause they're a nice break from the usual Dream Theater I listen to. There's an unbelievable amount of emotion, at least for me, in the song '38 years old'.

It's not how good you play, its how well you play it.

Actually, it's "I been thinkin' bout my doorbell, when you gonna ring it, when you gonna ring it?"
Not like that changes anything, though.

I don't really think of them as anything special either, and I've only ever driven through Kingston at 120 km/h.
His vibrato is downright annoying, and the music, while tight, has never really captured my imagination. Some songs are good just because Canadian radio tells you that it is (a.k.a. CanCon), but nothing that I'd choose to listen to of my own volition.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

Surely you are joking. Slow Hand is da man!
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

I'm a fan of Cream, but I can't say I listen to any of his solo stuff.
If Rush comes on the radio I definetly switch the channel. Can't stand any of their stuff.

How can you say He is s###?
s### isn't even a word ;)
First of all what about him sucks?? Is it because maybe he dosen't play the style you like, or that he doesn't shred or any of that stuff?
I just don't understand who the hell you think you are to come on this board and say that Eric Clapton is "s###". I know that you're entitled to your own opinion, but come on man I don't think he belong on a "Who pisses you off the most" thread, and I bet I'm not the only one here who thinks that.
P.S. Sorry for the blow up, but I'm the biggest Eric Clapton fan on this Board
(I think you know that by now :D )
