Try checking out peavey if you can. I've got a Classic 50 2x12 that is very good. This is probably my favorite amp I've ever played. Plus if you plug is into a 4x12 cab, it will rock you ball's off! BTW, it is very loud, and I believe it's in your price-range. Peavey is really making some great gear these day's, so I suggest checking them out.
