hi i really need help, i am new to recording and i have my computer setup with cool edit pro 2, i am trying to record distortion guitar tracks by running my guitar into a digitech multi effects pedal and then running that in to the mic line on my computer, the sound wav starts out ok but then it gradually gets softer and has a loss of clarity and im not sure y , please help thanks

Are you running the wire from the pedal directly to the computer? Might be the lack of an amp if that's the case. Might also be because you're running the wire directly into the computer. I've had minimal experience with running directly into the computer and I've found it to be not as good as micing the amp. Might want to try that.

You need to run the pedal into a line level input.
You are overloading the mic level input which is why you lose clarity.
