Ok, I go on vacation quite a bit , and i have always wanted to take my guitar but I am afraid nof what could happen to it. Because they dont really take good care with the luggage from whta I know. Could anyone with experiences taking their guitar on trips, which i am sure a lot of people do,(airplane) please tell me how that works out?

If you take a quality hardcase and maybe put in some extra padding it shouldn't be a big deal.

Well, whats your good one guitarfreak?I wouldn't bring a $2000+ guitar on any vacation even if well protected.

What are you gonna plug into anyway?

Well I've taken both my electrics and acoustics on planes before. Here's what you can do: Carry the guitar through security as if you're just going to carry it on to the plane. Now if you dont have any other carry on, then you can just bring it on the plane. If that's not that case, then just have them check it at the gate. They'll put a special ticket on it. Then you get it back right when you get off the plane; it'll be waiting for you on the jetway with like peoples strollers and whatnot. I've done it on a bout 4 different occasions and nothing has ever gone wrong.

If you lock the case, it's liable to be mangled open from securety. Extra padding so it's a tight fit is alway's good.
