I have a tele set up with a bridge hmbucker, a middle single coil and a neck single coil. I have a standard 5 position switch. When the humbucker is selected it is great. When I select the humbucker and the middle, I get buzz. I get a even more when I kick on a distortion pedal. When the middle single coil and the neck single coil are selected, they work great. When selected individually by themselves they also buzz. And again with distortion it is even worse. I have fully sheild the body cavities and back side of the pick guard. Is there a fix for this, a switching or wiring modification to keep the single coils from making unwanted buzz. Any help would be much appreciated.:?:

Aaa the single coil effect.

This is a problem every one who uses single coils faces. There are things you can do to tame the humm.

1) a shielding kit form www.stewmac.com Get at least two if you want to do the cavity as well as the back of the pick guard. These kits are not expensive.

2) turn off TVs and computer monitors.

3) try to avoid fluorescent tube lighting

4) find the best place in the room to stand. People will think you are weird however some spots will be quieter than others.

5) avoid having distortion and EQ pedals in front of your amp

6) fit a kill switch (an A/B switch) which you can use when not playing. Cheaper than an noise gate.

Hope this helps man !!
