To go back to the original question
I've got a Bandit 65 I bought back in '87. The only way I found to do this in a satisfactory way was using a modeling pedal or effects unit. The ones I use with it are a SansAmp or Behringer V-Amp although just about any modeler will work well with the PA like clean channel.
This is a hidden strength of the Bandit. It can get quite loud with a modeler and not start clipping like a lot of solid-state amps will do. It can also be used with other instruments, like keyboards, or as a mini-PA and sound good.
