totally normal, you are developing callouses, these are essential for playing, they will eventually build up and you will play pain free, just keep practicing, keep the practicing going and they will develop faster. but don't over do it, if they really start to hurt take it easy, focus on your picking hand and pluck an arpeggio and rest your fretting hand for a little.
