Ok,I'm bringing this up after killing one of the biggest cockroaches ive ever seen.It was sheer EVIL this thing. Its head was the size of a vegetable pea!

Anyway, not being able to sleep now,I got to thinking...

Is it true cockroaches or some other nasty things survive through a nuclear blast?

If I see another bug like that trying to rest on my bed i'm gonna split some atoms in my room!

Also, which bomb is the one that can kill everyone but leave buildings intact? Is the neutron?

Divert this thread as desired...

Ah, the things we get into here...

Yeah, cockroaches apparently have a very high resistance to radiation poisoning.

Air-burst neutron bombs release deadly radiation and EMP that kill anything within a line-of sight range of the explosion. The physical blast is limited to a much smaller area, leaving cities standing relatively intact while all of the occupants die horribly. I don't ever want to meet the sick **** that came up with that concept.

"The perfect way to kill your enemy and maintain the physical infrastructure" *barf*

Ive heard scorpions would also survive a nuclear holocaust.

Has anyone ever read the testimonies of survivors and eye witnesses to the hiroshima and nagasaki bombings?Everyones skin hanging off, glass seared permanently in the tissue and bones being fused together...

And then years later battling cancer and other debilities.

Also, notice his last name...revenge on germany perhaps?

I've heard that a cockroach can only survive a nuclear blast if it's going through it's molting stage. Cockroaches molt every 7 days (So I've heard, I'm no Scientist), so really, 1 out of 7 roaches would survive.......These are just things I've heard in the past, no proof or fact about it....

Has anyone read Swan Song by Robert MCcammon? It's a fiction novel about the aftermath of a nuclear war. Cool book.

It depends on how close it is. At ground zero any cr is going to get vaporized.
