micing an amp

If i was too buy a jcm2000 marshall head would it sound the same through line out to the board to the p-amp to the PA speakers as it would if i mic'd it to the PA.?

Well, first off, "If I was to" means "I haven't bought it yet" so I thought Id try and help you out with some of my very good advice.

To answer your question, the answer is ... no

Besides you probably wont need to mic an monster like a JCM800 unless you are playing thousand seater stadiums.

but whats the difference in power, i thought it is basically the same because you are only running a signal from line out and when you mic it its like vocals for the PA. Please explain. thanks
