I lost intrest in guitar, all those months of learning shreding and sweeps, and classical guitar and theory are down the drain. I hope my computer burns in hell. so guitar is no more a hobby of mine. WTF WHY DOES MY GUITAR SQUEAL!!!, only happens if my wire touches metal, Arghhhh my whole input is metal DIE DIE DIE DIE. So good bye guitartricks and thanks for whatever help you provided me. thanks schamnge and dr. simon, and beniot for help.

Hey dude before you commit all your recording kit to the bin, try recording with a Line 6 V2 POD fed directly into a Korg D1200.

You can pick them up for about 4-500 bucks on eBay. MUCH easier than using a computer, a microphone and an amp.

I know because that is where I started !

Also check out www.korgstudios.com.

They are a great bunch and not only very knowledgeable but also very helpful.

Yep there may be a really simple fix and, with out seeing your kit it is very difficult to know.

Put it down for 6 months and then have another go once the dust has settled.

If you were serious about music this would not be a deterant.

We used to get cassette records and record to that before we were using PC's.

Kid's are too spoiled today.

Here is a cheaper option for recording guitar, you can get a guitar port by line 6 on ebay, i have both the pod pro and the guitar port, I like the port ALOT, great sounds, it has RCA outs that I run right into my pro tools rig, sounds great and its cheap. Not to mention the cool online option.

I've never had any luck with recording programs. I rely on my friends that are much more computer savy than me. But learning to play an instrument or trying to be competent in any of the arts isn't about the final "product" IMO its the process thats important. I know this sounds like BS but I've been "learning" to play the guitar now for over 30 years and never gotten very good. I still practice every day cause to me being a musician or artist of any kind is a life style not a hobby.

If music be the food of love; play on.
