Hi yall. I'm Aurel from the great white north of Canada, just north of Lake Erie, actually, but north just the same. I've been playing guitar since the mid sixties but I'm kinda new to recording with a computer. I have Screenblast acid and screenblast movie software too. My problem is I can play and record over Mp3s in the movie editor (just 2 tracks) but the acid software won't recognize mp3s. I guess I need to convert mp3s to wav but how. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Its my first day here and this site looks like a jewel so far!

Hi and welcome to GT !

I don't really know the software you have however one way would be to use a free music program like iTumes.

Load the MP3 into the iTunes library and then burn it to a CD as an wav file which you can then copy and import.

There may well be a more elegant way to do it (like open up the mp3 in your software and either export it as a wav file or bounce it to a wav file ore even use the save as or export functions.

best of luck !

I tunes is a mac based software and I'm a PC set up. Burning to cd seems like a long way around. You'd think there'd be some simple software program that would do it. Its probably right there in front of my face and I'm missing it. :)

I just copied the mp3 to the clipboard and left click in the track and drag the track out to the end. The mp3 pastes itself in there like a magic wand. :p I love when that happens. :D Whoda thought!
