Well here is what ive gathered(from a boss forum)

XT Live has...

7 stompboxes

32 amps without Model Packs another 36 with Model Packs Installed

Only 46 out of the 72 a based on real amps the rest are Line 6 Originals

No Customized Amps

No Customized Cabinets

No Acoustic Sim

No Sitar Sim

No Pickup Modeling

4 band parametric EQ

Only 10% of its Parametters can be assigned to the Expression pedal

If you want a alternate Compressor you must sacrifice a Stompbox

No Biphase Effect

No Pitchshifting

No Harmonist

Only One Amp at a time

Cannot control effects with dynamics AKA hardness of picking

Cannot allocate the string that the octaver uses Example - Octaver only on E A D Strings

Only 1 wah type

Cannot set the range of the Wah Wah

Cannot customize the Wah

No Talk Box vowel sounds

Effects have less Parametters for you to tweak

No Effects Placement

The boss not only sounds better to my ears, but the sounds aquired with the boss are more useable than the pods...just my opinion...

Also,it does depend on what you plan on doing with it.If you must have a usb port than the PODXTL may be for you.I use the Boss direct(line out to sound card)and it sounds phenominal, but ive never used a pod for direct recording,so I can't say which sounds better.
Try once,fail twice...
