funk Solos?

What scales would you play in a funk solo? would normal minor pentatonic blues work or what?

Be imaginative - I tend to use minor/major pentatonic, blues, natural minor and dorian the most :-)

What I like to do is mod the minor pentatonic slightly and bring in some "off" tones - for example, using the A min Pentatonic as an example (I've put the "off notes" in parenthesis - they always work well for me as passing tones
