My instructor taught me to play Blvd of Broken Dreams by Greenday the very first time i walked in there and it was a piece of cake. This tab is for the verses obviously, try it out, this song is slow so you should be able to handle it!

Try the traditional song, Romance. It's an easy fingerpicking song that I have added in my video section.

thanks alot guys, i tried out some of the songs and there really good. gonna use them in my music assesment at school. can you suggest any good songs for an acoustic beginner.

Try songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival (most of them are really easy).

Alittle more difficult, but still good stuff to learn, would be songs by Jim Croce.

Try Turn the Page...the Bob Seger version...real simple and if you can sing any at all..really cool.

i looked at Creedence Clearwater songs and they looked really good but which is the best one to play?

They're all easy to play... "Proud Mary" is probably one of their more popular ones.

Just to make sure some people were saying thats their fingers couldn't get around these chords. But is this tab right? I learnt this song as all powerchords for the verse which was

This is very easy to play - for absoloute beginners;

D l-3- = Little Finger
A l-3- = Ring Finger
E l-1- = Index Finger

This is the way I play powerchords and how most of the people I know play them. From doing it this way its then very easy to learn some barre chords etc just flatten your index finger across the fretboard

E l-1

which would give you an F minor chord.

This is quite a good place to learn some barre chords :)

And yeah blink 182 stuff is really cool to play when your learning because you can start out with their easy stuff such as whats my age again and then move onto stuff a little bit more 'challenging' such as boring from the dude ranch album which uses quick single notes, barre chords, power chords, palm muting etc. Its a band that I used to learn with, its fun to play and it doesn't de-motivate a beginner as its not too hard to play.
