Yeah....I think the hardest part of playing or composing any type of music,
is coming up with that hook or melody and then expanding on it correctly.
It's still something I'm working on. (Just a few months ago, I started using
a PC to mix and record with, and the PC is really the first time I have been
able to "compose" something.

I spent a few years just listening to Paganinni and Yngwie, and practicing
scales and arpeggios, but when I started "composing", it brought out
the musicality in me, rather than just a bunch of over-practiced scales
and chords, and arps.

Then I heard and really got into wanting to make Tony MacAlpine quality
melodies....like you hear on his Maximum Security album. Not wanting to
become a Mac clone, but the quality of his melodies is just unreal to me.
(Must have been all those years playing as a pianist...Chopin etc.)

Then you have Lynch and his eerie "Scary" quirkiness who just sounds
bad a**.

Like I said...working on it.

BTW, nearly everything I do is improvisation...one take recording and mixing.
So there are a few things I miss, or could have done better, and usually on my next tune I do.

Thanks for the input, constructive critique, and nice comments.
Sample of my music ETHEREAL
ALL MY MUSIC SOUNDS BEST...WITH SOME GOOD PHONES, AND PLAYED REALLY LOUD!!!!!!!!!

Try POWER DVD or a real piece of software.
WMP, Realplayer, and those little things kill...recordings...muffle them..take away the stereo field.
