Any other metalheads out there listen to Meshuggah? They're one of my favorite metal bands out there. I've heard them described as "math metal"....they use really complex rhythms and u need to have good ears to follow what theyre doing sometimes. If youre into metal and haven't listened to Meshuggah, check the Destroy Erase Improve album. And for those of you who have heard them, what do ya'll think?

Right on- I'll probably spell it wrong, but isn't the Yiddish word meshugganah?

I dont care for the monotone vocals, and some different chord progressions would be good, but the solo's are great.

If you like meshuggah, you might want to google 'coprofago'.Good band, the both of them.

I first thought meshuggah was just another cappy nu-metal band, but they really have talent(Haake is an incredible drummer)Good music for driving around pissed off.

The drummer is definitely insane. The odd time signatures and the solos are what makes this band rock. I agree about the vocals though. A little on the bland side, but a good band nonetheless.
Sometimes I hit notes only dogs can hear.

That's correct also. Only difference is that "meshugganah" can be used as a noun also. But for adjective use, theyre interchangable.

I used to follow their guitar world column a few years ago, and apparently most of their songs are in a normal 4:4 sig, but the guitarists' rhythms are what throws you off. The guitarists claim that the weird rhythms they play are what come naturally for them...

I think the music is interresting to say the least. I just can't get past vocals like that. It just hurts my ears to hear someone "sing" like that. I mean, it just sounds like a bunch of incomprahensable growling and screaming. Different strokes for different folks though i guess.
