Well, if your not going to use Mexican Polar Bear, then do like I did.....I went on one of the thesaurus website where you type in a word, and it gives you other words that mean the same thing. I just started typing in words that describes our music (dark, heavy, chaotic, loud, etc....) I eventually came up with Havoc Din, which means chaotic loud noise. The perfect name for our band.

Havoc and Din are both nouns...one doesn't modify the other...your band's name is literally "Chaos Loud Noise." I don't mean to be a linguistics a-hole, but your band sounds like a badly translated Japanese game show name...
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

Jolly get's his A for the day for being a smart a$$......

And while we're on linguistics, make sure you type your response correctly if your gonna be correcting someone else's use of words...

"Havoc and Din our both nouns" ?

It's a trumped up Hallmark Holiday- the only time some guys make their ladies feel special because they feel like they have to. Sad really.

I accidentally have all black on today- I just laid out an outfit for work and people thought I was trying to make a point.

-puts down the blunt and looks up confusedly...-

... wha?

That is correct. Orwell was possibly one of the most prophetic social commentators I have ever read. Although Aldous Huxley does well also.
Maybe I should start a band and call it Orwellian Hypothesis. I kinda like it.

That is an excellent idea though, I would love to see more women being active musicians, because talent and ambition and soul, these things know no gender, but I can't help but think that women get looked at as either a radical feminist act when people see all women in a band or that they are relegated to pop music where they remain victims of objectification. Whoah, that was almost deep!

Either way, the effort is laudable, but why not get a band together spread the word to other women interested in picking up instruments- even if they aren't in your bands, up and coming bands desperately need the support of musical colleagues and what better way for a local phenomenon to start? If you were in my area I'd say get some people together and next time we play, we could split a bill with ya!

To me that's the key to being a musician- you want to succeed, but music is a community effort- the true musicians are not the egos who care about how much face time they get to play pentatonic scales and modal inversions in front of a crowd that doesn't know what a mode is, but people who want to make noise (hopefully one that is good), have fun and make people glad they came to see ya. We walk a fine line between entertainers and educators, ambient background to a night out and artists. I think the answer is in the middle of all that.

time for more coffee (I have a total caffeine problem!)

peace

Yer, that sounds about right !

I remember Ozzy saying something like: "I don't want to listen to some one who could impress Jo Satriani (Sic) but some one who makes you want to get up and play the guitar".

Wise words IMHO !!!

Oh man, I love listening to that guy talk:

izkajooglblah -BEEEP- sturfremguh -BEEEP- -BEEEP- ants.... dvohgdwbazcx ... SHARON!!!!!

He is right though- from the 60's and 70's the stuff that Lenny Kaye would re-release on the famous Nuggets garage rock comps and the Velvet Underground, Modern Lovers, Sex Pistols and the CLash would drive me more to explore the instrument until I could appreciate more technically sophisticated stuff, but I'll always have a soft spot for a ramones-like 4 chord basher.
