Hello everybody!

I need your help changing pickups on an electric guitar without pickguard.
The PU are directly installed into the top of the guitar.
My problem is how to fix the PU into the recess on the top so you can also change the height of the PU.
I've got four things: Single coil Pickup, PU cap, Screw, Spring.
I don't know the succession.

Hope somebody saves my day..
Regards

I'm going to assume that the "pickup cap" is something like what you see around the pickup (such as a Les Paul). If this is the case then...the pickup should go in first and the holes on the sides should be threaded for screws. Next take the pickup cover and put the screws in. On the side on the inside of the guitar put the spring on the screw then place the cover on top of the pickup. Push down a bit so the screw bites the threads on the pickup. This will allow you to change the height.

Hi,
oh thanks. The PU "cap" is the PU cover. I used the wrong word.
Sorry.
Did I understand right: First PU cover over PU, then a screw through each hole at the side of the PU, and then the spring over the screw, so the spring is next to the top of the guitar.

The point of the spring is to move the pickup up or down. So the spring should be "around" or "on" the threaded part of the screw. That area of the screw should go through some type of cover that the pickup sticks through (like I said on a Les Paul)..and the screw should be threaded into the sides of the pickup.
