yeah, this place is cool, unlike any other forum ive been on, im on maaaaaaany, this has free lessons and all that jazz...

so where can i get tips on starting a band, theres only me and a guitarist, acoustic, but she will learn electric.

were both taking a course in highschool, guitar ensemble, they said it would help us in our band, were just starting our band now, her and i play together and play for hours making up anything...
but its not ever very good.

So where can i get tips on starting a band or making songs and getting tabs, i play by ear mostly, but we use tabs for help

If you need more members ask the owner of the local store if you can put up a flyer with information about the band you're starting. That's usually what people do in my hometown. I think I've seen this subject discussed on here before with more advice than I can give, so you might want to do a quick search and see what turns up.

Once you have all the members you think you need from my personal experience a good way to start playing as a band is to do a few covers until everyone gets comfortable with how everyone else plays. After that is when you start writing original stuff, when the band reaches a certain degree of unity and organization.

Yeah, im looking through my friends for members, my first choice would be the people i knw, then maybe post in a local store, my friend did that, their band is PandaFoust

when I was in Jr. High these guys a knew started a band. I think they were called Tinted Insite or something like that. they had potential to be good but at that time they...well they just wernt good lol

thats why i have lauren... the only one so far, even though she's not very good, she is determined to work, she wants the same as me in the band... were not starting till next year but shes in allready!!!
