Ok werent really sure where to post this,

When picking, there seems to be a distinct tapping noise coming through the amp, which is rather annoying.....any ideas how to stop or decrease this?

do you have some one trapped in your amp ? if so, let them out and the tapping will stop !

On a more serious note, where do you think the tapping is coming from ? Is it the amp ? the guitar? the way you fret notes ?

you could try dropping the hight of your pickups. Are you using a lot of gain ?

Yeah theres a good chance that the sound is coming from your pick hitting your pick up.
