the hot rails sound like a nice, hot humbucker...if you're going for a heavier rock sound out of your strat and don't want to do the wood work to make your guitar fit a humbucker, i'd say the hot rails are a nice choice. my personal favs are the jb jr's but that's because i like a little less hot humbucker sound.....more medium/vintage sounding.
