Welcome to the boards dude !

I have not tried the V-amp however people seem to either love it or hate it.

I have used:
1) Pod pro: (my fave and main squeeze) a
2) the direct out of a TSL100 head: not very versatile relative to the pod but gets the job done
3) Digitech GNX2: Not bad but a bit nu metal for me !
4) Focusrite Voice master pro: Wonderful pre, very nice ! I use the A/D card and shoot S/PDIF into the back of my mac
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.
my toons Brought to you by Dr BadGAS

Dr, thanks for your advice on my recording problem, I did as you sugest.. kept my out-put on the v-amp at a very low leval and all seems fine now cheers.

Im a strong believer you only get what you pay for, so for 150 bucks and what it offers its got to be a steal at that.

Duz what it says but looks silly is my thought.

Iv been just messing about with it and not really went deep into it but yes your right it is the business but what you think of its looks. Favorite pre set is bank 6B turn up loud and your garenteed to be evicted.
