Hi,
i found lessons at Vai's official site,
one of them was about two handed chords,
it says that you play with your left a chord and you hammer with your right hand some other notes,
but how exactly its done? you strum the chord and then you hammer with your right hand? like tapping?

Yeah, strum with your right and then hammer on with your right. Or you can hammer on to the chord with your left hand and then hammer on to the additional notes with your right.

Try this out.

R - right hand note
L - left hand note

E |------------------h-10------------------h-7---|
B |----------------------------------------------|
G |----------h-7-/-9---------------h-7-/-9-------|
D |------h-5-------------------h-5---------------|
A |--h-3-------------------h-3-------------------|
E |----------------------------------------------|
L L R R L L R R

E |----------------------------------------------|
B |----------------------------------------------|
G |----------------------------------------------|
D |----------h-7-/-9---------------h-7-/-9-------|
A |------h-5-----/-7-----------h-5-----/-7-------|
E |--h-2-------------p-0---h-2-------------/-3---|
R L L R R L L R

If you want an mp3 of how that's supposed to sound, let me know.

Well, I suppose you could, but I don't really know how Vai does them.

I think he calls his two handed chords cluster chords, because the chord tonalities are close together. A chord with the notes C - G - Ab would be a cluster chord.

That tab I posted isn't for cluster chords, if that's what you were interested in. It's just to show two hand tapping to make some cool chords.

Peace out.
