Mex strat upgrade or Highway 1 strat?

Hey all, just looking for advice. I am wondering what might be better, upgrading pickups and possible bridge on my mexican strat purchasing the US Highway 1 strat or possibly another guitar of similar quality in that price range? I love the strats but am wide open to suggestions. The US Hwy 1 Tele also looks cool, I am looking for best tone and feel/ playability. Thanx if anybody has the time to reply. JR

get the upgrade, then ur strat will be good. if u get the highway, whats next, american? then u will discard the highway, but the otherway u will always have a different sounding strat to play with.

I don't know much about the highway 1 strats but you may be in for a disappointment !

The Mexican strats quality control seems to be not as good as the US however if you get a good one, there is very little real difference. Just like strats in a certain series will all play and sound slightly different.

If I were in your shoes, I'd hall my bones round the local music stores and play as many strats as you can and then, with your eyes closed pick the one the sounds and plays the best in your hands. Do not go for looks, they are totally deceiving !!!
