I'm new to this forum and just want to say hello.

I'm Scottish, married with a cat and a dog and live in Perth, Western Australia.

Main musical influences are British indie/alternative, from Joy Division through to Franz Ferdinand and everything in between.

I'm new to playing guitar as well, started six months ago.

Started off with a nylon string classical and recently got a Washburn D10S acoustic.

Doing not too bad and can strum and pick a few tunes and have also learned the basics of reading music.

Big problems with timing though, and really, really big problems with F and B chords. (I think my hands are the wrong shape!)

Any tips?

Welcome to Gt! There's plenty of info here for pretty much anything you want to know. A good tip is to use the forum search function to find previously discussed topincs on what you might be wanting to know about. Enjoy your stay!
