The Schecters that are made with basswood bodies are, like basswood from other manufacturers, neck heavy. That is only the lowest price ($299) models.

The non basswood models actually have a really good balance to them and are very sturdy.

The Zachary does look good but I would hate to have that attitude handling my warranty issues.

Best bet is Guitar Center. Try it for up to 30 days and if it isn't right take it back.

Still think the Schecter would be your best bet.
