Is it just me or does everybody go through this. 20 months playin the Axe and still cannot properly hit the correct string every time. Eg; Playin Sweet Child O Mine, I could play it 10 times but only nail it 4 or 5 times. It gets messed up cause I hit the wrong string. Anyone know a good Teacher for Theory & Technique in Dublin/Navan. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

hey there slam the best way for u to practice it is to get ur self a metronome and start off very slowy then increase the tempo only when ur comfortable with the technique u are practicing.. but u need to start slow and build up gradually paying attention the every note make sure it sounds clear its how i practice...and for sweet child of mine intro use alternate picking its a good string skipping ex too.. so for the first note its a down stroke (v) then the second is up (^)and so on.. i couldnt practice without me metronome..
Akira says;
"i was expecting some 3476 string string skipping with some 23489172343 octave sweeps and some alt picking runs at 345734237623572bpm in 234872364781246164516th notes across your 2384723648724627348623478264 fret guitar"

I was like that back when I was around that mark too. As the years progress you'll hit less and less bunk notes on accident and find you have more control of your fingers, the strings, and the fretboard. But nobody's perfect, even the pro's screw up from time to time.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

hey, don't worry to much about it. i think it is a fairly common thing but as it has been said, practice slowly and with a metrenome. that's the best way to be precise.

Are you looking at your picking hand whilst you play the intro? I cant really remember the point where I didnt need to look at my hands anymore,
