im new to guitar. i have played the clarinet for 5 years and i though the guitar would be more fun. :D i have no clue what to do to get started confused :confused: . i have a yamaha acustic guitar and the book it came with. im trying to teach my self to play. f you have any book recomindations or anything like that please help. thanks ALOT i want to learn fast and get frustrated and give up easily
Learn chords, and there's just tons of sites on the internet with lessons for beginners. If you get frustrated you might want to consider getting guitar lessons.

You're not alone there dude. You gotta put alot of hours into the guitar though to gain skill. I'd suggest learning all the open position chords and getting good at switching them around. Then think about where you wanna go with your playing? Chances are you'll wanna work on some lead bits so learning a position of the pentatonic scale will help you here. That should keep you busy for the next 6 months ;)

Go to www.homespuntapes.com. They have an excellent selection of instructional DVDs and vidieos in a bunch of different styles and skill levels. Don't give up. Tomorrow you will be better than you were today. :)
