I just got a jackson Js 30 Dinky, played it a few times love it, but it picks up a lot of feed back, I use a cry baby wah and DS-1 boss pedal with it and sometimes the buzzing of the strings is massive,

The excess feed back / buzzing only occurs when the tone control is set to all frequencies are present and when the control is turned the other way with the higher frequencies rolled off ( giving a more muted sound), theres no buzzing at all.

Do you think this is the guitar or electrical appliances interfering with it?

thanks alot,

If it has single coils, the treble is all the way up, you've got lots of gain on that DS-1, and using the Crybaby..it's gonna be the guitar...having electrical appliances around won't help.

I guess you need a noise gate pedal.

When my Tele had single coils and I had my amp in my room, it used to buzz...but I never noticed it when I was playing...

Ok I played my guitar through out amps and thers no buzz, I was told it could be my amp, not earthed or something like that....that would explain why when i touch the strings/hardware it stops because im earthing it

What does that mean though can an amp be earthed?

Do you perchance mean grounded?

Some amps have a ground switch on them to help you with that buzzing, and make sure no one cut the ground plug off your amp...its the round one on the plug.

Sometimes the pickup on the guitar may not be grounded properly. My original Tele pickup's ground was loose and it buzzed all the time.
