I am not taking lessons currently. I will have been playing for a year in February, and I have been able to teach myself the technical parts as far as fingering mechancics, but I haven't spent as much time on my theory. I don't think I need lessons so much as I need just someone to point me in the right direction. Once I know what exactly I need to learn, I am able to pick it up pretty easily. I have some musical background in trumpet; I can read music pretty well, and I know my scales.
