Maybe u mean solid state or tube. If thats the case it depends on what for. I have a tube amp with 80 watts. While sound is sweet and smooth, the fact is i can never really drive it into a great sound cuz i live in a townhouse at school. If i could i would jack it up to 6-8 so i can get a nice break up but thats not possible. At low levels im just wasting tubes and money cuz it doesnt sound all that great. Solid state on the other hand sounds pretty much the same at most levels and so its good for the bedroom blues. But i would go tubes if u get the chance. I would rather have a 20 watt tube amp then a 150 watt solid state with all the frills.
