Yes, you can use your tascam CD GT1 with your amplifier. Connect the LINE OUT of your player to AUX IN of your guitar amplifier. You will need a STEREO MINI PHONO to RCA adaptor/extender. But be careful -- the signal is going to by-pass the volume control of your amplifier, so it will be LOUD. Turn down the volume control of your player before your do anything! And see page 8 of your player's manual for a picture!

You are welcome.
And while I'm at it ... I got a book+CD Rock Guitar Improvisation by Rikki Rooksby (from a FastFoward series), which I didn't appreciate until I got my tascam thing. the cd has full-track recordings of lessons, then same thing sans the lead guitar. I play along, I have tabs right in front of me, and most important -- I can slow down the cd staying in the same key! And the way you can loop exercise -- this is great!
(By the way, I am not Rikki Rooksby promoting himself!)

Merry Xmas and happy strumming to everybody!

Thanks for the suggestion Konman and I will probably try something like that after the first of the year. I haven't learned how to get around in here yet. Certainly not to swift with this computer. I'm having to learn this too. I sure hope it's not true about teaching an old dog new tricks. I turned 65 yrs old yesterday and there's many of learning left.

Happy B-day to you then! I am "only" 47 and just started to spend some serious time playing guitar. Well, my thinking about effects is "less is more", especially effects on the tascam toy. All preset effects are so wierd on it. To make things easier I have made an enlarged copy of the page from the manual that lists all presets. If you want, I could mail a copy to you. You can e-mail your address to me to

And do not hesitate to ask questions, we are here to learn from each other!
