floating bridge
Hey, I recently got a new guitar that featurs a Floyd Rose JT500 double locking tremolo. Last night was the first night I attempted to change the strings (going to a heavier guage). Well, that was the biggest pain in the butt ever. The floating bridge is what is giving me a problem. The strings have the bridge pulling up, not parallel to the body of the guitar (but at a big angle off of the guitar). I have read online that I need to tighten some screws by taking the cover off of the back to access the spring system. There are 3 springs that are connected to a metal plate that are screwed in to the body of the guitar by 2 screws. Are these screws that are in the guitar the screws that I need to tighten to bring the bridge down closer to the body?
Thank you for you help!

Yup, they are the springs.
Setting up a FR is just a very painful process however if you persevere you will get there. Unfortunate it is just trial and error when getting the bridge pos correct.

Thanks for your reply...On those springs do I tighten the screws that are connected to the springs into the body of the guitar to pull the bridge down?? What I am afraid of screwing those screws in and messing something up if its not the correct thing to do...

Tightening them will pull the bridge closer to the body and loosening it will allow the bridge more travel resulting in it ending up further away.
