Help me Hybrid strat

i need help from a strat expert or someone whos knows a bit. i am thinkin of purchasing a second hand hybrid fender strat. it has a one piece piece birdseye maple neck which the shop say dates back to 1959.The shop say that the body is early 70s. (it has been resprayed) and that the electonics are 80's. it has lace sensor pickups.all this for £750. i am not thinkin of buying this guitar to collect or sell on just for the tone.
PLEASE TELL ME:
1. iF THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE OR NOT
2 HOW TO TELL IF IT IS A GENUINE 59 NECK. i already know to check the serial number. i will do this please tell me other ways of checking it.
3. IF I SHOULD BUY IT. :confused:

If there's nothing wrong with it that's a nice price. Go for it.

Do you think that it will need refretted soon coz it is so old?

How does it play ? How does it sound ? Do you like it ?

The rest is just window dressing and snake oil.

Another way to check the age of the neck (other than like radio carbondating it or checking the serial number) is to unbolt it. There will probably be a date written under the join (on the neck) and some initialls.
