Anyone have anything to say about the Mesa Boogie Tri-Axis pre-amp? I've been considering one for a while now, it's just the price tag that's holding me back. Are they really worth what they cost?

I've tried one in the store and thought it was awesome, I just don't know how it will sound with my gear.

Oh yeah, Dr_simon, I tried what you explained with my Pod on using it just as an effects processor. It works, but I'm not getting the total Marshall sound, it's a little thin and bright. I probably just need to do some more tweaking with the gain and eq.....

I think when ever you find some "extra electrics" to send your signal through your tone always suffers a bit however keep on a tweaking man !!
