I've had an Ibanez JS100 for about 3 years. its equipped with a floyd rose style bridge. the problem is that the tremolo arm is always loose and just hangs straight down all the time. For instance as soon as i bring the bar up to do a dive or whatever it just swings right back down. It wouldn't bother me that much if it wasnt for the fact that on most other similar guitars the arm stays where lift or move it too.
Are there any ways to fix this, or is just cos its a cheap guitar?

There should be a little hex type screw you can tighten. You may have to take the cover off the back of the guitar and check the back of the trem. Some are in the front, some in the back....
Check out my band:

I've had the opportunity to work with a number of different Floyd licenced trems. Usually the arm can be adjusted to swing or not swing by adjusting some bolt or nut on the back side of the guitar. Often I've had to search for a "hex" wrench or a small open-end wrench that will fit thru the back of the guitar. One model had a nylon washer that would break frequently but the washer was needed to prevent the swinging of the arm.

I've not had a chance to have look at the guitar yet, but thanks for your advice :)
