My Warmoth telebody arrived on Friday. The neck is following in a separate package. I have all the other hardware and am looking forward to drilling the fist hole... :o)

However the neck is maple & I have bought it finished for reasons explained ealier in the forum.

My questions is: Has anyone experience in using a couple of coats of KIWI light tan shoe polish to give a light golden colour to the new bright white maple neck?

I read it in a form somewhere & haven't been able to find it again.

TIA

Hey Rob, alot of guys on the TDPRI forum use the shoe polish trick on the new poly-coated maple necks to give them the color, if its bare wood I use a coat of tung oil followed by some nitro laquer and it gives a nice goldish - yellow that will continue to darken over time, good luck..........
