Guys I need your help!
Ive been searching the net for info, and emailing people all day. No luck.
I need advice on how to repair a snapped neck. Its a gibson les paul, classic case of it being dropped on its back.. so the neck has snapped upwards.. ie.. the heastock is snapped up so its parrallel to the fretboard. I'll email a pic if you can help.

Its still attached.. but theres a gaping crack in it. You can bend the headstock back into place and it fits neatly. I heard a simple glueing proceedure should be enough!

So how do i fix it? I want to do it myself.

if you haven't fixed anything before and this is a particulalry expensive guitar, for the love of god don't do it yourself!

take it to someone who knows what they are doing or a guitar shop who will be able to help you.
if you really think you can fix it ( :( ), you might want to take it to a shop or somewhere anyway to see if they'll give you some advice.

hope you get it sorted :o

And if you screw it up you have an unsellable worthless dog which no one can tune or intonate (= v. big loss) !

I'd take a small loss and, in the future remember that LPs don't bounce !

Sounds like you'll have to keep that one for about 10 years before you see a profit, just say it was dropped by someone famous...........

Gibsons 'lose their heads' so often that any good tech or luthier should have plenty of experience with this repair. You'd think that by now they would have figured out how to build 'em right!

Ive been trading gibsons for a couple of years now.. so I got a decent price for it.
I bought it as a guitar which had had a neck repair. Ive now realised its not simply snapped same place again.. so.. I duno what to do. It happened durign shipping to the UK. I can claim insurance.

Jeez, on another note, dont know hate it when people are wrong but thing the are write!!
I took it into the guitar shop and the loser who served me tried to say it was a classic, not a stadnard, which was utter crap!! Howd he get a job if he cant tell the difference! He then tried to tell me how much I get for it!!
THEN!! I said I trade on ebay, and he say oh well Im a powerseller on ebay, then I prelied with IM A GOLD POWERSELLER YOU PUNK!!

The other shop doods were laughing,

Hehe.. howd u mean smackdown? As in.. I smacked him down with my comeback?

The guitar is in for repair, £70 for a simple structure repair of £130 for a refinish too.
I just went for the simple job, so thats about $120 dollars to you guys.

Exactly, I can see how it's confusing, though, as in Scotland, "Smackdown" means you headbutted him and then kicked him while he was on the ground. :D
