I play the Spider II 150W head through a full stack, and would definitely look into playing the lower versions if i were looking to replace my Crate writing amp. Go try it .... I traded in my Marshall AVT 150 head for it (and some other stuff) for having amazingly shoddy quality (I WILL NOT play Marshall from this day forth) and haven't been disappointed. Then again, my axe is a Jem, so everything sounds better than usual to me
