I am a 14 year old guitarist who's been playing for three years. I am at about a Van Halen/Metallica level (playing their songs), have equipment for small live preformances, and I feel that the next step for me (as a guitarist) is to form a classic rock cover-band. I know were to find other musisions, but I need help geting started. Any suggestions?

Thanks for repliying, but what my main problem is, is that I know a guitarist, a bassest, and a drummer, and we're all at relitivly the same level. The problem is that we are all great friends, and when we get together we're so lazy, we end up playing playstation instead of geting anything done. And I always feel like a jerk when ever I bring it up because I'm the one that realy wants to do this. I'm wondering if I should keep trying or place an add for, 'Guitarist wanting to form classic rock cover group. Bassist, Drummer, and guitarist wanted to meet every saturday'

Sounds like ya already know what the answer is.
If you want to get a band going, forget your friends and go out and get one.
If you wanna play video games, keep doing that.

I chose to do both. Who's gonna do vocals?
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

Thank you for your help everyone. And for vocals, I figured we'd flip that around between the guitarist. (Another option) My friend (guitarist) and I are more/less the ones who want to do this. Lets say we learn 5 whole songs together and then go to the adds for bass, drums, and poss. vocals. What do you guys think?

A) Friends
B) Adds
C) Friend/adds

Thanks again for the help.

If you're serious about getting a band underway, and your friends aren't exactly as eager, then you've gotta go out and find some like-minded musicians and play with them. Your friends will understand and after some mild to moderate ego-bruising you'll be playing playstation again with 'em.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.
