Whistle!
does anyone know how to make a whistling sound from the guitar? i've seen steve vai doing it,i'm pretty sure its a pinched harmonic, but how do you get the doo-ooo-woop sound?

Maybe a pinched harmonic along with some whammying to vary the pitch?

Yeah, sounds like a pinched (artificial) harmonic with some use of the whammy bar....

your right, its definately a pinched harmonic. i've got the dvd that he does it on, and i think there could be some whammy action, its not easy to see tho cos he does it so fast :eek: i'll try work it out! thanks :D
